Great ideas on how to keep your condo clean between your CondoClean Services

Often, it just takes a few moments each day to keep you space clean and organized.  Even if you are a self-proclaimed packrat or a downright slob, these tips can help you out.  When we come by, your space will be perfectly prepped for our cleaning services.  

Organization:

Eliminate Clutter:  If it doesn’t have its own home, it’s clutter.  That’s what it’s called, and it grows exponentially!   Do yourself a favour and divide your ‘homeless’ items into three piles: unsure, charity, and garbage.  Keep your unsure items in a box and re-visit the items to decide where they belong at a later time, give away your charity items to Goodwill or another charity of your choice, and throw out the third.  What a feeling! 

Establish a personal reception area: Create a special area (most people use the kitchen) to keep your mail, timetable, notes, keys, change, shopping lists and any other necessities. Every person should have a spot for messages and an ‘outbox’ or folder to manage clutter on the spot.

Identify clutter traps: Any vase, table, corner, or chair that collects your ‘homeless’ items need to revert back to its original purpose.  Pick up a stylish box to place your items there instead – and keep it hidden!

Invest in a shoe rack and welcome mat: Place a classic doormat and shoe rack by the door.  They can really add style to your home and keep dirt
(especially in our climate) local to the front area.

Use laundry hampers: Toss your dark, lights, and colours into three separate hampers to make laundry a breeze when you do it and not a burden when it’s waiting to be done.

Cleaning:

Choose your tools wisely: Cotton cloths are great for most jobs, but some require special materials and products. As well, certain products may mar or ruin surfaces.  You must read the labels and be careful before you start using products and materials on various surfaces. 

Let it sit: Cleaning solutions need time to sit and do their jobs!  Apply the solution to showers, baths, sinks and toilets.  Then, spray counters and mirrors.  Alternate cleaning tasks to leave the maximum amount of time for the products to do their work. 

Top to bottom: When cleaning, clean the space and each room from the top down. Dust first, vacuum last. Scrub, wipe and polish in straight lines instead of circles.

Cleaning Caddy: Store your supplies in a handy bucket, carryall or apron and take it around with you from room to room.
